On July 29th, 1917, thousands of Americans, chiefly African American men and women, gathered in Washington, D.C., for a momentous occasion. This was the Silent Parade, a monumental display of here defiance against racial injustice. Driven by an unyielding desire for equality, the marchers stood sile
